World's first images of Nintendo DS thumb strap?
Like an analogue stick. But not. Kind of...
SPOnG believes that these are the first images of the thumb pad controller for the Nintendo DS, the little nodule that was displayed during the presentation of Super Mario 64 DS in Seattle last week.
After the briefing to press, we nipped down to the front of the stage, got permission and snapped away, though lighting and the fact that we had only about three seconds didn't make for particularly good quality shots.
As you can see, the thumb pad comprises part of the wrist strap that will be bundled with every Nintendo DS.

You see how it tightens in two places? That little black nodule gets tightened around your thumb and you use it for analogue control on the lower screen. It was demoed during Mario 64 DS presentation last week in Seattle.

no actually it comes with the DS, they aren't trying to make extra money on a strap. That actually sounds like something more a Sony thing though they don't seem to do stupid things like that as often outside of videogames. More in videogame things like a multi-tap. But I understand where your coming from, since Nintendo does it too somtimes. The keyword there is sometimes, not always.
