The Sims sees two million at launch
EA is trumpeting what is the most furious uptake of any PC game in history, with The Sims 2 shifting an incredible two million units within its first ten days on general release.

Over a million reported sales were racked up in Europe, with gamers in the continent again finding the human manipulation gem irresistible.

“The Sims franchise has become a cultural phenomenon and The Sims 2 is a game that changes the way we think about our industry," said Frank Gibeau, senior vice president of marketing, EA.

All this before the console versions of The Sims – The Urbz, which is slated to hit GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS in November, regional hardware launch permitting.

For once I honestly think EA desered great sales on this. Maxis did a great job with The Sims 2 which in my opinion is better than the original! Classic game.
