After the rocketing highs of yesterdays news, we are slumped at our desks this afternoon, knowing that today cannot possibly deliver the same highs as yesterday. The 21st of September 2004 was like news crack…
We had a massive face-off between Nintendo and Sony, both gunning for the handheld market with a refreshing ferocity replacing what was becoming a rather tedious and somewhat girlie war of attrition, the ammo for which was whisperings and half-truth.
The DS was shown, fully exposed for the first time proper and complete with release dates and pricing across two territories, revealing built-in functionality and so much more. The PSP in all its endlessly-screened glory hot on its heels, with reverberations about pricing that shook the foundations at SPOnG towers. The deal is done. We want it.
We had the PSTwo being shown for the first time, deliciously confirming our reports from the end of last week. See that milky smoke flow!
And now, we want more. But, we can’t have it. It’s maddening us in the most undermining and fundamental way, leading to this piece of amazing news:
Some British chick called Rosamund Pike has signed up to play female lead in the upcoming Doom movie that’s likely to suck. She’ll play a scientist called Samantha.
Great.
