SCEJ's Second Mystery Title Unveiled, Genji's History Begins

Following that mysterious teaser web-page from SCEJ last week, we have received word that those cunning Flash de-compilers were absolutely correct in their suspicions. The “two wonderful PS2 titles” we were promised are indeed Ico 2, or Nico, or ‘Wanda and the Colossus’ as it’s now known, and also ‘Genji’.

Although no-one yet knows exactly what Genji concerns, it does, as suspected, seem to be based on the ancient texts: ‘The Tale Of Genji’. With a setting in Feudal Japan and a nod in the direction of its artistic traditions, Genji could well become something quite spectacular.

In truth, it’s almost impossible to gauge the title’s potential quality merely by glancing at its new webpage, but we still get the feeling that this might be a true Sony epic. Either that or just another video game that features samurai.
