Eidos Builds Its Portfolio with New Lego License
It has been announced today that Eidos, amid speculation of buy-outs and ‘possible business combinations’, has acquired the lucrative rights to distribute Giant Interactive Entertainment’s forthcoming Lego Star Wars game. As a prime kiddy-enticing franchise, this could certainly prove profitable for Eidos: who will be bringing the title to all regions apart form Japan.

Eidos’ CEO, a Mike McGarvey, made the justifiable self-congratulatory remark “This signing of a title with such widespread appeal and recognition is a major coup for Eidos. We look forward to working with Giant on maximising the game’s [and Eidos’ profits!] potential.”

Whilst some earlier Lego titles have been of questionable quality, Lego Star Wars is likely to be a solid hit: taking influence from The Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones before throwing in the funny yellow plastic chaps with wrong-shaped heads. It’s due out in April 2005, ad is heading to PS2, Xbox, PC and GBA.

I won't be buying this, you gonna have to do better than this. Lego is cool in a retro way, but I wouldn't spend 40 pounds on it.
