Sega Dreamarena Offers Hope To The Opel-Less
On 6th November 2000, Dreamarena will launch an exclusive online European competition to win a VX220 (Opel Speedster for non-UK residents), Vauxhall's exciting new sports car. Open to players from the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain and France, the winner will need the mental agility of a champion racer.

Supporting the release of the long awaited Dreamcast driving game Metropolis Street Racer (MSR), Dreamarena, Sega Dreamcast's online games portal, will run an online MSR competition for all Dreamcast owners.

Each week on Dreamarena three questions will be fired at registered players, based on the three major cities which feature in the game - San Francisco, London, Tokyo. Players race against the clock to answer questions correctly and win kilometres. These kilometres will be totalled to produce ongoing European league tables.

For those who drive by the seat of their pants, Dreamarena will turn up the heat by offering a series of high risk options. Randomly throughout the competition a gamble button will appear. The player chooses how many kilometres he/she wishes to gamble and then has 30 seconds to answer a question. Correct answers will result in the number of gambled kilometres added to a player's score. For those who fail, the gambled kilometres are deducted from their scores.

The competition runs until January 29th, 2001, with a Vauxhall VX220 to be won by the player with the most kilometres. Hailed by experts as one of the most exciting sports cars in Britain, the VX220 (Opel Speedster for non-UK residents) has a top speed of 136mph and accelerates from 0-60mph in under six seconds. The £23,000 two-seater has a limited production run and will not be available until November.

Players must register for the competition via Dreamarena, accessible only through a Dreamcast console.
