Last year, Rare announced that it would be releasing a GBA game based on the developer’s unofficial mascot - Mr Pants. Mr Pants is a badly drawn stick-man with a bower hat and, despite the lack of nose, a handsome black moustache. With no other information provided, games journalists were understandably mystified by the very thought of it.
It has now been revealed that "It’s Mr Pants" is actually a remake of the never-released Donkey Kong Coconut Crackers, a GBA puzzle title that was cancelled shortly after Rare slipped out of Nintendo’s pocket. With hand-drawn graphics courtesy of a particularly untalented individual, a poorly sung soundtrack and Tetris-a-like gameplay, It’s Mr Pants looks simultaneously enticing and, well, utterly pants.
THQ and Rare are expected to confirm a release date in the near future, expect an update then.
