Nintendo is once again exercising its indecisive design strategy by offering yet another GBA SP makeover to its adoring Japanese fanbase. Joining the likes of the mini-NES, Famicom and Donkey Kong special edition SP's is the new Naruto-themed GBA SP. This limited model coincides with the Japanese release of the latest Naruto RPG on GBA, giving fans of the anime-based series a chance to make a public display of their devotion, wielding satsuma coloured consoles as proof.
The collectable SP bears the symbol of Kohona (a Naruto-related squiggle) on its flip-down lid, and the wow factor has been boosted via a re-spray in a vibrant shade of orange. The deep azure buttons are juxtaposed upon the face, lending the colour scheme a delicious level of contrast. Just look at it, it’s wondrously beautiful, is it not?
As usual, this won’t be available outside of Japan, so if you love Naruto, orange and/or blue, you’d better get on the phone to your local importer.
