Dead or Alive Ultimate pushed back to October

Online Tecmo scrapper proves tardy.

Dead or Alive went down pretty well amongst Xbox owners as one of the most graphically impressive games to grace the machine at the time of launch. Tecmo opted to follow up this success with Dead or Alive Ultimate, an Xbox Live enabled combination of the original Dead or Alive title and Dead or Alive 2.

The original DOA will be recreated in a guise that closely resembles the first version of the game, which was initially released on the Saturn in Japan. Dead or Alive 2, however, will enjoy a complete re-work to the point where it should supersede DOA3 in terms of graphical splendour.

Unfortunately, for fans of the DOA series eager to thrash their joypads in the cause of online pugilism, the release date for DOA Ultimate has been pushed back. Notes on the official website state the Xbox-only game won’t be released until October 2004. Ah well, at least devotees now have some extra time to train and tone their favourite button mashing digits.
