Konami Secures FIFPro License
Konami can announce that it has secured the FlFPro licence for all future titles in its top selling International Superstar Soccer series of games.
FlFPro is the legal representative of professional football players throughout the world. Under the terms of the license Konami is permitted to use the name and likeness of thousands of players from around the world who are represented by FlFPro.
The first title to take advantage of the new license will be the hugely anticipated International Superstar Soccer for PlayStation 2, one of the five titles from Konami, which will be released to coincide with the launch of the new console.
Terms and conditions have already been agreed between Konami and FIFPRO, but the two companies plan to officially sign off contracts here at the ECTS video game trade show at the beginning of September.
Konami of Europe President Kunio Neo comments, 'The International Superstar Soccer series has sold over 5 million copies and has already established its position as one of the best selling football titles. The addition of the FlFPro license will make ISS games even more realistic, providing consumers with the star names and faces from the world's best teams'.
