Activision’s proposed launch for the Spiderman 2 game will come as no surprise to most of the gaming community. It’s a straightforward offshoot of the upcoming Spiderman 2 film. However, what is remarkable about this multiformat release is just how multi-format it actually is. Spiderman 2 will be playable on seven different formats, which has got to be some kind of record. Available for Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, PC, GBA, N-Gage and PSP, Activision will be casting a gigantic web across the market. If they can knock out PSOne and Nintendo DS versions as well, then there will be absolutely no escape.
Aspiring spidermen better hope that Activision have enough time to create a half decent game, because the porting staff are certainly going to be pushed to their limits!

Some of the concepts being used in the spiderman game certainly sound quite promising, but it does remain to be seen if the game will be let down by being a bit too multiformat.
Still, it'll be fun to actually be able to go web slinging around Manhattan rather than having to strictly stay around the roof tops like in the first game.
