We can reveal today that a massive online soccer showdown is set to rock Europe, with competing offerings from Konami and Electronic Arts releasing within weeks of each other, and both offering full network play.

The as-yet-untitled fourth incarnation of Pro Evolution Soccer will go head to head with EA's latest FIFA offering, with the games expected in autumn of this year.

Both games will have full online play, including co-operative modes, a much loved feature found in Pro Evolution 3, arguably one of the most sublime videogame experiences to date, irrespective of genre.

We'll bring you more details from E3.

This is clearly what online gaming needs. More variety apart from the fp shooting kind. Should be a laugh surely, I'd put my money of Pro Evo 3, however EA are learning slowly, I was impressed by FIFA 2004 though. Bring on the beautiful game once more.

I laugh at Fifa's attempt to learn from the true master of all football/soccer/futbol games. Fifa 2004 is complete and utter crap compared to Pro Evo 3, online in Fifa 04 is just crap as well, EA has clearly no intention on fixing their slow arse servers and they will probably not be releasing the updated rosters ever. It's truly a shame that EA has no respect for its fanbase, shame on EA. As for me I will not be buying any more Fifa games from EA, I hope that EA loses it's licenses and hopefully the Pro Evo series can take all licenses and drive EA to the ground. Not that Pro Evo needs all the real names, but it'll be a nice added value.
