Something is brewing over at Nintendo headquarters in Kyoto, with the company poised to make some kind of announcement regarding the next iteration in its home console push at this May's E3.
Speaking to CNN, Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo's executive vice president of sales and marketing stated that, "Comment on [our new home console] will come from the highest levels. The focus and commitment we have on this will be shown at E3", hinting at the first solid information and publicly available strategy being outlined by either Yamauchi or Iwata.
It is highly unlikely that any actual hardware will be shown or projected specification released, though the outline of expected software, including an appearance by the mythical Mario 128, seems more likely now than at any point.
