New GameCube Final Fantasy Named Inside
More substance to last week’s chatter as Japanese big gun stakes claim.
Crystal Chronicles - it'll have to do for now...
We brought you news last week foretelling of an imminent announcement from Japanese RPG giant Square Enix, wherein an all-new Final Fantasy game would be announced for Nintendo’s GameCube home console.
Yesterday morning in Japan, V-Jump Magazine was released, and the monthly’s news section names the game as Final Fantasy Guilty Wing. The title is a GameCube exclusive.
No other details were offered, other than an intriguing hint that Guilty Wing may well be set in the Final Fantasy VII universe, a prospect that will no doubt fire the collective imagination of the series' leagues of fans around the world.
We look forward to clarification, possibly coming at E3. Stay tuned.

Great news... as long as it's not like Crystal Chronicles. The name DOES suggest it'll have a more 'adult' theme, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Not convinced about it being set in the wrld of FFVII. Just a rumour I know, but an unlikely possibility.

Hmm.. if you are refering to the V-Jump "supposed" scan there's one the net.. I agree it looks fake. V-Jump use different fonts for their magazine but those are just weird.. plus I've been told the Final Fantasy logo is in Runic MT Condensed font.

Inside, that's a crap name. I wanted something far more mysterious, or emotive. Like Final Fantasy Arcturian Disaster, or Final Fantasy Sword-wielding Mega Magic Odyssey Star. Or Phinal Phantasy Star Troll Bashing Time. But Insdie... the magic's back out!

Why not "Final Fantasy Extreme", or "Final Fantasy Unlimited"?

Final Fantasy Unlimited wouldn't be used as a title because it's already been used for an anime series in Japan. FFU tv series is old news in Japan. This GC game is unlikely to be related to that tv series in anyway except for the FF title. Guilty Wing sounds like a good title anyway, I just hope it stays true to the series. Also that we get a decent, long single player game and story like previous PS outings. Hopefully E3 will produce something promising on it.
