In the latest issue of Nintendo Dream Magazine, Nintendo Japan makes some interesting comments relating to all aspects of its operation and continued marketing.
According to the regular Question Box page, Nintendo has underlined the fact that the DS will be playable at E3 to all-comers on this year’s stand. The machine will sit alongside the Game Boy Advance and GameCube offerings and will be furnished with a range of playable software.
The TV advert for Pikmin 2 will be something of an advertising milestone for the firm, with "large expectations" for it at Nintendo. Make of that what you will.
This year's E3 will see roughly the same amount of software for both GameCube and Game Boy Advance as was shown at last year's event, scuppering reports that the stand would be bare. Nintendo will also announce a new strategic shift aimed at pleasing a broader range of gamers.
All incarnations of Zelda: The Four Swords for GameCube can be played by one player alone. Nintendo felt this would broaden the appeal of the game. Well, duh...
The final item of interest was the news that according to various point of sale surveys, the delicious Famicom Game Boy Advance SP has been selling particularly well amongst older gamers. Many punters said that the machine, along with various bits of software, was their first gaming purchase in some time.
