According to a wealth of reports from Japan this morning, it would appear that Square Enix is already developing a fresh Final Fantasy offering for Nintendo’s GameCube console.
At this point in time it is not exactly clear what the reports are referring to. Whether a follow-up to the mildly unpopular Crystal Chronicles or a fresh turn-based ‘classic’ Final Fantasy, fans of the series will no doubt be pleased that the massive franchise will be returning to what is arguably its spiritual home.
No doubt all will become clear at this May’s E3, with perhaps an exciting E3 spoiler in the days preceding the event. We’ll keep you updated.

More FF on GC. Bring it on Squenix. Lets hope that the game has some better designed, and more memorable characters like previous PSone/2 versions. Also a lot longer than to play than FF:CC single player game.
