Ninja Gaiden censored in Europe

Euro games to keep heads

Posted by Staff
According to gossip doing the rounds this morning, the European version of Tecmo's wonderful looking Ninja Gaiden will be drastically cut, with the content being toned down in the PAL release.

We received word that the decapitations depicted in the game will be removed, though the readily flowing buckets of blood will remain in place.

We are currently investigating the claims, and hope to receive clarification from an official source at some point later this week - Stay tuned.

Is this a joke? How can a game that regards sword fighting be censorred in such a way? Could anyone think what Barbarian on the C64 (not the unknown new version) would have been like if they had censorred the decapitation move in that game?

I hate censorship. Give it a higher pegi rating and let us make the decision.
