Codemasters has gone through something of a revolution of late, with the UK stalwart’s focus seemingly shifting towards providing a mainstream audience with big name licensed games on safe platforms, a business model proven successful, if executed at the right level, time and time again.
The firm’s latest coup is the rights to develop England International Football, for which approval was given this week.
The license will see the entire England squad recreated in polygonal form, with the game scheduled to hit in the build up to this year’s Euro 2004 Championship.
"It's a massive coup to win the rights to the England team for England International Football," said Nick Wheelwright, Codemasters' Managing Director. "We can now provide the England football fan with the true England international match day experience."
England International Football will come equipped with online functionality in the Xbox version, though unfortunately not for the PlayStation 2, a deal further cementing Codemasters’ Xbox Live relationship it has been nurturing with Microsoft.
