According to gossip in the UK development scene, the Nintendo DS will incorporate camera functionality, either straight from the box or with a separately available peripheral.
Nintendo - predictably enough - refused to comment on the speculation, though some developers, who it’s fair to say have been unusually tight-lipped about both the DS and PSP, have dropped some pretty heavy hints that a camera will be part of Nintendo’s strategy.
In related news - well, gossip actually - global positioning system functionality will also be incorporated into the NDS. The GPS function will be made available in at least one first-party launch product, as well as being made available to third-party developers.
We’ll endeavour to unearth more on this rather scintillating gossip in the run up to this May’s E3.
