“I love bananas!” That was the war cry of Aiai in the last Super Monkey Ball instalment. To some, a cheap throwaway comment. To others, a way of life. Super Monkey Ball, like nothing else to come from Sega - aside from Virtua Fighter - captured a religiously devout fanbase that has since been tortured with the possibility of a follow-up.
Well, according to reports breaking over the weekend, a follow-up may well be closer than expected.
Japanese monthly Nintendo Dream has actually named the game as Super Monkey Ball: Banana Crazy and claims that it will be available - exclusively for GameCube - sometime this year; truly joyous news, if it’s true.
Other information, all of which is still unconfirmed by Sega at this point, indicates that a LAN mode will be included, no doubt a target for the excellent chaps over at WarpPipe Project.
Expect any breaking SMB3 news as it happens.
