First Playable Gran Turismo 4 Recalled
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has made the embarrassing move of recalling one of its highest profile releases of 2003, due to a bug that escaped detection.

The Japan-only uber-demo that is Gran Turismo 4 Prologue apparently has a bug in the game, wherein the accelerator pedal fails to operate properly when using the Logicool GT Force and GT Force Pro steering wheel set. Another bug sees the steering wheel itself fail to return to a neutral position after it is turned.

Oops.

However, a revised version is now available, free to any Japanese gamers with a problem disc. As to whether this courtesy will be extended to those outside of Japan who may have imported the disc seems doubtful.

The full version of Gran Turismo 4, arguably the most ambitious gaming project of all time, will be in stores across the world from April of 2004.
