Donkey Kong is no longer a platform game, it's a rhythm game played with a big old double bongo drum that plugs into the front of your GameCube.

As to whether the gameplay to be found in Donkey Konga will appease the DK fanbase - rightly outraged that it’s been denied a fully-fledged platformer by the series that invented the genre - remains to be seen.
Fresh information emerging today points to four-player action, as well as some of the track list, which includes Lou Vega’s Mambo No 5 and Pink’s Love is Such a Crazy Thing.
We really don’t know what to think about this. We love Samba di Amigo more than life itself, though that didn’t knobble a much-loved platform franchise in order to be released. Donkey Konga will almost certainly be classic Japanese super-camp music game.
We just hope that it’s not a lengthy filler while we wait for GameCube Donkey Kong proper…
