It's now seen as a certainty that Nintendo will slash the price of the GameCube hardware around the world, and maybe as soon as this week, according to various retail sources.
The price slated for the US has been given as $99, that’s less than £60 using today’s exchange rate. Compare this to a £400-at-launch Sega Saturn and, well perspective is gained.
Talk this side of the Atlantic points to a similar price cut, with the UK likely to see a Christmas-time GameCube console for just £69, the most generous offer since Sega tried desperately to offload hardware stock during the death throes of the Dreamcast.
No-o-o-o! Don’t mention the Dreamcast.
Everything DreamCube (ahem) right here, as it breaks.
