Microsoft Launches New Sports Brand
Microsoft yesterday further strengthened its online support with the US launch of a new sports gaming brand powered by Xbox Live. XSN Sports is a network that enables both Xbox and PC owners to hook up, offering players the ability to set up leagues, find opponents, organise tournaments and run seasons, via a central hub at XSNSports.com.

Once connected, players can meet gamers from across the globe by checking out the message boards, establish contacts, play them over Xbox Live, and have results posted online. Players can also run single-elimination tournaments or establish full seasons for between four and 32 players.

The first title to take advantage of XSN Sports is NFL Fever 2004, which launched in the US alongside the service. A strong supporting line-up can be expected and includes the likes of Top Spin, Amped 2, Links 2004, NBA Inside Drive 2004, and NHL Rivals 2004

We'll keep you posted on Microsoft's European plans for XSN.
