Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that Paper Mario will be released for GameCube at some point next year, bringing the acclaimed if quirky RPG offshoot to the firm’s most recent home console.
However, at this point in time, the content of the GameCube version is not known. Will it be a re-make of the original or a whole new game? No one knows, and Nintendo is remaining predictably tight-lipped.
The simple fact that due to it’s release in the twilight of the Nintendo 64, Paper Mario didn’t really receive the attention it deserved, both in terms of retail placement and sales. So a quick port of the 2D outing, perhaps with beefed up visuals, is a distinct possibility…
