PC strategy specialists CDV seem to be struggling these days. After scrapping recruitment plans earlier this year, they have continued to be thwarted by unexpected losses. Subsequently, their rescue plan has resulted in the cancellation of Galaxy Andromeda, formerly known as Imperium Galactica III. That’s no huge loss to the gaming community, and CDV do have much stronger strategy titles nestling in their catalogue. The Sudden Strike and Cossacks series still have a good following, even if Heaven and Hell, their latest venture, has been less successful than the company hoped.
After this setback, CDV will have to think carefully about future releases. Having been unable to anticipate realistic sales figures thus far into the financial year, CDV’s board of director’s is less than optimistic about their immediate fiscal future. Given time, and a promising line-up of games to come, we hope the company will find its feet soon enough.
