Tomb Raider is number 1

Lara appeal beats critics, developers, mastering process and more

Despite being on the receiving end of some fairly heavy criticism recently, and despite being severely delayed, and despite not being mastered unlit the very last minute, Tomb Raider has taken the number 1 slot in the UK all-formats charts.

Fending off Sony’s EyeToy, entering at Number 2 and SOCOM, last week’s number 1 now residing at number 3, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness has beaten the odds, showing that a franchise can overpower seemingly unconquerable adversity.

“The Angel of Darkness has been a long time coming and there has been a great deal of frustration, said John Davis Marketing Director at Eidos speaking exclusively to us this morning. “However, the fantastic sales over the weekend and the positive feedback we have received directly from customers demonstrate that it has been well worth the wait. With the new movie due to release in a few weeks time, its definitely going to be Lara's summer.”
