Codemasters announced yesterday that the next instalment in the Colin McRae series is due to hit shelves late September for both PS2 and Xbox.
The announcement also contained details of an enhanced game engine, designed to provide a more professional, realistic and natural handling experience. Previous iterations of the series have employed a steering aid, which had the effect of making the car move around a central pivot point. This has now been removed, effectively taking the stabilisers off.
Other enhancements include an increase in terrain surface types from 20 to 34, and tyre types from 10 to 19 ? designed to deliver more accurate handling on different surfaces and under different weather conditions.
More details are sure to surface over the next few weeks, and we?ll be there to report.
