The European Commission today announced that it is investigating possible naughtiness at Topps, the firm behind the incredibly popular Pokemon trading cards and stickers through the Poke-boom.
According to the Commission, certain anti-competitive practices were employed by the distributor, as everyone raced to cash in on the massive industry centred around the Poke-nomenon.
“We came to the preliminary conclusion that Topps had elaborated a very far-reaching strategy designed to prevent imports of those products from countries where the prices are low into countries where the prices are higher,” said a Commission spokesperson.
Topps says it will fight the Commission on the matter.
