Toshiba has today announced a deal with Sega Enterprises that will the gaming legend use voice activation software within certain video games.
Over the next three years, Sega will have access to Toshiba’s voice activation software, originally developed for use in the motor trade for in-car voice-managed car control solutions, and speech-information delivery.
Essentially, the software can understand and synthesise the human voice letting the computer pronounce words on the fly.
The first game to come voice-equipped will be Sega’s horse racing management title Derby Tsuku 3: Let's Make a Joyful Smiley Derby Stallion 3, currently in development for GameCube and PlayStation 2.
