Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for GameCube has slipped down the release schedule. Originally slated for July 18th in the country, the game will now hit on August 8th. No reason was offered for the delay.
Some news sources this morning are reporting that the build shown at E3 last month didn't satisfy Nintendo's famously officious quality control scrutiny, though this could not be verified.
This also spells likely problems in getting the American and European versions on the shelves in any kind of reasonable time. Indeed, an official release date has not been set for America yet, and the European version is in a similar state.
It is also worth asking what Nintendo's fanbase will think of a game that was advertised in November of 2002 not making stores for Christmas 2003…
