Online reports have recently stated that as a further consequence of the under-performing Capcom titles previously mentioned, producer Shinji Mikami - the man responsible for Resident Evil and Devil May Cry - has stepped down as Chief of Production of Production Studio 4.
PS4 is currently responsible for the Gamecube Five - Biohazard 4, Killer 7, P.N.03, Viewtiful Joe and Dead Pheonix. To be production manager for these five titles is surely a mighty responsibility, and even more so when you're the producer of one or two of those titles.
The move is clearly one with realignment of focus as its intent. Whether this reflects a blaming of poor performance by P.N.03 and Resident Evil 0 - two Mikami titles – is yet to be confirmed and probably never will be.
We can but hope that this move helps Biohazard 4 meet our massive expectations.
