Nintendo of Japan this morning announced that a new rechargeable battery for Game Boy Advance has been successfully developed, and will hit retail in the country on May 17.
The new battery will deliver 75% more play time, again utilising lithium ion technology, as pioneered by the mobile phone industry.
Despite some early adopters believing that the machine should have featured the enhanced power unit at launch, Nintendo is upbeat, pricing the pack at what converts to just over a tenner.
Expect a European release later this year.
