You may remember that several weeks ago, we brought you news that Capcom had an online Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins game planned for multiple platforms, something which came as quite a shock to all.
Following up on that, today the firm has announced a deal to license Zona’s Terazona online game engine for the project, now dubbed Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts Online, in what should result in an eased cross-platform support situation.
“We are very proud to be associated with one of the classic game series of all time," said Monte Singman, CEO at Zona. "Ghouls 'n' Ghosts was technically and visually ahead of its time when released by Capcom in 1988. Very soon, thousands of concurrent online game players will enjoy the same kind of fun video game entertainment within a fast, seamless, and reliable game play environment."
Destined to be unveiled at this year’s E3, Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts will be Capcom’s MMORPG and expected to be a constantly updated game, in the vein of Sega’s Phantasy Star Online.
