Nintendo of Japan has announced that it has slightly redesigned the Game Boy Advance SP, due for launch in Japan on February 14.
According to reports, Nintendo designer Kenichi Sugino has revealed that the casing has undergone something of a rethink. Instead of the mini-disc-like screw facings being visible, the company’s research team has decided to fill them in with shock-resistant plastic tabs.
Whether this decision was made for aesthetic or safety reasons was not disclosed.
