The latest issues of Japanese Famitsu magazine confirms several key aspects of the functionality to be found in F-Zero GC, the GameCube version of Nintendo and Sega AV’s hotly anticipated racer.
The game will be able to support up to four players at once in a split-screen style. This was almost certain from the moment the game was announced, given that the N64 version did exactly that, but it’s nice to have it confirmed anyway.
Furthermore, data share between the GameCube and arcade version of the game was finally confirmed. Although Sega insiders had exclusively told us that the impressive cabinet F-Zero AC is housed in is fitted with a memory card reader, again, official confirmation is nice.
Annoyingly, the only data share confirmed is the transfer of personalised ships, though bespoke and randomly generated tracks for multiplayer games are suspected.
Stay tuned for everything F-Zero!
