Some of the most startling Christmas sales figures have emerged overnight, this time coming from land of fizzy lager and dangerous animals, Australia.
According to retail data freshly released, Nintendo only managed to grab 4% of the market, an amazingly poor result.
Indeed, the PlayStation 2 sold 84,477 units, the Xbox shifted 45,939 but the GameCube could only manage 5,846, making Microsoft’s campaign to sell the Xbox in Japan seem like a roaring success.
We’ll have to see if this proves a killer blow to the ungrateful PAL gaming antipodeans. They were due to get most PAL releases before us and Animal Crossing was one of them. Will Nintendo be vengeful? Let’s hope so!
