Revolt into Style

Its wierd how some games take on a life of their own...

Re-volt from Acclaim was a remote control racing game that passed barely noticed when it was originally released.

True, it was dog-slow on the PlayStation, but the Dreamcast version rocked. Here in the SPOnG offices, we spent many hours playing the fun "tag" match game, but the world at large was indifferent.

The game was (sort of) issued on the PS2 as RC Revenge Pro, it was fast, smooth and good looking, but the fun two player options were sadly missing.

But PC owners of the game always had it best of all, as well as two player options, they also had the ability to customise their cars and tracks. And that's exactly what they did and continue to do to this day.

A network of enthusiast sites is building up, in the same way that they have for Doom, Quake, Half Life and many other FPS games. None of them are quite a good looking as the top FPS fan-sites yet, buit at http://www.revoltdownloads.com/ there are tons of tracks, cars, links and patches to make Re-Volt more fun than a spin-drier full of pistachio nuts.
