Sega Burns out

Plans to publish Criterion racer ditched

Posted by Staff
Sega of Japan has reportedly decided to ditch plans to publish Criterion’s Burnout in the country. This follows Sega announcing that it would release the game as Gran Heat.

As well as the proliferation of driving sims in Japan, the fact that Burnout is now fairly old may also have impacted upon the multi-platform release plan.

The announcement, made at E3 this year, did raise a few eyebrows as all the talk at that time was focussed on the Burnout sequel, Point of Impact. Perhaps Sega will opt to release this instead…?

We’ll keep you posted.
