Mario storms UK charts – straight in at number one!
Sees off Sims, Unreal, Hitman, TIF.
We can reveal that Super Mario Sunshine for the Nintendo GameCube has entered the UK all-formats chart at number one.
The achievement is compounded by the fact that Mario has beaten EA’s latest Sims offering, Eidos’ Hitman 2, a game that hit three platforms simultaneously, the wildly anticipated PC follow-up Unreal Tournament 2003 and This is Football 2003, SCEE’s PS2 footy offering.
Unfortunately/luckily, no-one at Nintendo Europe was available to provide a predictably glowing comment about all this.
Well, at least Des Lynam should be happy.
