Nintendo of Japan has announced that it has already begun production of the next game in the Donkey Kong series, tentatively titled Donkey Kong Next, following the departure from the fold of the previous DK developer, Rare.
In a brief statement Nintendo simply said, “An internal production team has begun a new Donkey Kong game for the Nintendo GameCube.”
Without doubt, Nintendo will want to make the most of this opportunity to show up both Rare and Microsoft, following the US firm’s acquisition of the UK-based development studio.
We’ll bring you more on DK Next as it breaks.
