Nintendo makes its online pledge
Nintendo Japan has finally revealed its plans to release the hotly anticipated GameCube Broadband adapter into the region.

The firm has set a date of October 3rd for the launch of the adapter, which will deliver high-speed Internet access and gaming to the GameCube.

Nintendo also confirmed that a 56k modem for dial-up users would launch on the same day.

"It is important for users to have options when playing games, either with packaged game software or over the Internet," said Nintendo Japan’s Ken Toyoda. "As a game machine maker, we will supply the environment to support game software developers to make online games."

Nothing was mentioned relating to European or American launches.
