According to Acclaim Entertainment, a staggering 3,000 people have signed up to change their name to Turok, of Turok the Dinosaur Hunter fame.
Acclaim reckons that since it launched its human marketing drive, between 20 and 30 people per minute have been signing up.
Shaun White, UK Communications Manager for Acclaim UK, said: "We've been staggered by the response. Naturally, we are looking at Identity Marketing as an experiment in our marketing strategy. But we've been truly amazed at the reaction we've had to the Turok project in such a short space of time."
A total of five new Turoks will be created in the coming weeks, each one receiving £500, an Xbox and a copy of the game.
