Sega of Japan has announced groundbreaking plans to release emulated versions of its Mega Drive back catalogue.

The renting process will cost users around £1.00 per week per title. Monthly rentals will also be available for about £3.00

From an initial line-up of 30 titles, Sega plans to make ten new titles available every month. A bonus system, the details of which have net been disclosed, will also be available for regular users.

Sega of Japan has also stated it intends to make Saturn games available at some point in the near future.

In the meantime, many Mega Drive games will be released on the Game Boy Advance in the coming months, including Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi and many more. The Sonic Mega Collection is also coming soon to GameCube.

Long live the Mega Drive!
