AGB, the company that seems to have set out to push Nintendo’s ‘2D-only’ Game Boy Advance into the three-dimensional world, has released some screens from its latest project, a Driver-esque car demo.
This latest offering to press sits well alongside AGB’s other current projects, a delightful-looking F1 style racer and a Virtua Striker inspired soccer game.
“We have again pushed the 3D envelope on GBA,” the company said in a statement. “We have incorporated 3D models into our 3D environment. We have added many new screens and videos showing our new 3D racer engine technology utilising 3D objects as well as 3D environments. We have pushed the number of cars in the demo up to over 100 as well adding a city section a multi-storey car park. All vehicles run a trivial physics system and react to the environment.”
It seems that AGB is indeed staffed by supercomputer-powered cyborg types.
Stay tuned for more handheld 3D magic from AGB in the coming weeks.
