Nintendo of Japan has confirmed that it will not be hosting its annual SpaceWorld event this year, setting the rumour mill to rest on this particular issue.
We brought you news last week that NOJ had not yet confirmed its usual slot in the Messe in Tokyo, the venue for the Nintendo-only show. Nintendo insiders have confirmed the cancellation to us.
The reasoning behind the decision is simple: Nintendo simply doesn't have enough new gaming content to make the event worthwhile. A focused developer and publisher, Nintendo's development teams have been hard at it, finishing up work on Wario, Zelda, Mario and the rest.
We can reveal that Nintendo will be holding a smaller event towards the end of this year. Expect full coverage then, along with some brand new Nintendo games.
See, it's not all bad news!
