Capcom of Japan has disclosed that Street Fighter is by far its biggest selling series of all time, selling over 25 million copies for home system, with more sales into arcades.
The news makes Ken, Ryu and co. Capcom’s most valuable properties, combining low development costs and huge appeal. A staggering 60 titles have carried the Street Fighter brand since 1987
Capcom also mentioned that its Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins series has sold 3.8 million while its other best selling franchise, Biohazard/Resident Evil, has sold over 20 million units.
