Yikes! SquareSoft is making dedicated PC massively multiplayer online role-playing games. Why is nothing normal anymore? As if Sega making games for GameCube wasn’t strange enough…
Over in Japan, Square has released the minimum specifications for beta-testers interested in early bug-fixing its latest creation, Final Fantasy XI for PC.
The spec is as follows:
Operating System: Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP
CPU: Intel Pentium III
Memory: 128MB RAM
Graphics: DirectX8.1 AGP compatible
Sound: DirectX8.1 compatible
Hard Drive space: 4.56GB
CD-ROM: 4X or Higher
Modem: 56k
Although almost all the minimum specs come with a “higher recommended” pseudo disclaimer, we’re sure you will agree that this is all fairly reasonable for a Triple-A PC release.
More on all this as it breaks.
