In its latest financial report, SquareSoft of Japan has doused the flames that have licked at the random-battle buds of the world’s gamers and has stated that for at least the next year, Final Fantasy XII will not appear for GameCube.
Moreover, company president Youichi Wada stated that there will be no GameCube releases at all from Square this year. Wada also reaffirmed the company’s stance on Xbox development: There will not be any.
In other news, Square said that it has failed to find a buyer for its loss making movie business and has had to resort to liquidation, selling off the equipment at the Hawaii-based studio.
