Nintendo of America announced over the weekend that the price of GameCube would be slashed by $50 to just $149, effective from today. That’s equal to just over £100, folks!
The news comes shortly after both Microsoft and Sony lowered their prices to coincide with Nintendo’s former $200 price tag. The move only reaffirms Nintendo’s determination to take back the console market, but it is unlikely the company will catch up to Sony in the current generation console war.
Do not expect a similar cut in the UK.
